About
Giant Meter is a sound sculpture that displays the level of sound it hears, much like the l.e.d. displays on mixing boards. The piece is seven feet tall and made from recycled stoplight bulbs riveted to an aluminum frame, with custom circuitry and an arduino chip sensing and analyzing the sound in order to light up corresponding bulbs.
Giant Meter was exhibited at UCSD's "The Loft" in 2010, at the "Art of Sound San Diego" show at Space4Art Gallery in 2012, at Art Institute of San Diego in 2014, and at the San Diego Art Institute Winter 2014 Invitational Show.
